Founded in 1888, South Shields Football Club (SSFC) is a professional club located in Tyne and Wear, currently competing in the National League North. The football stadium has a capacity to host 4,000 fans and offers a range of services, including hospitality boxes, bars, food kiosks and a merchandise store.

The club was seeking to replace their outdated systems in order to streamline service across the venue and efficiently manage all their revenue streams. Therefore, they reached out to an ICRTouch Authorised Partner, Octo-POS, who implemented a whole suite of EPoS solutions to transform the club’s operations.

The brief - Tackling operational challenges

With a capacity to host 4,000 fans, SSFC experiences significant footfall during home games, making it challenging to maintain quick service and  keep operations running smoothly.

Some of the more significant challenges the club experienced included; limited detailed reporting across revenue streams, insufficient ongoing support from the previous EPoS provider, long queues that impacted sales, and a need to improve operational efficiency to support their ambitious growth plans for the upcoming seasons.

    The brand-new product, TouchPoint lite has come in handy for the club’s various food huts and kiosks around the pitch, enabling quick and efficient sales, with a space saving solution. The combination of various ordering channels has also reduced overall staff costs and increased service speed by empowering employees and reducing queues.
