The customer โ€“ The Swan Inn and The Castle

The Swan Inn and the The Castle are popular pubs that also offer full table service within their restaurants. Gerry and Sue divide their time between both locations to keep an eye on sales and the day to day operations.

The challenge

The original EPoS was cumbersome to use and impossible to program, and extremely inflexible when creating menu options and adding condiments to meals. A handheld solution had been implemented with limited success, which had a considerable impact on the speed and accuracy of the table waiting service. A new solution was needed that could bring a modern approach to EPoS that was both intuitive and flexible to program, that could improve speed and accuracy of their table service and reduce waiting times at the bar.

The solution

County EPOS installed the new TouchPoint EPoS System along with PocketTouch devices for table service and TouchOffice Web for instant online reporting, programming, and stock control. The new system has been a total revelation to the operation, the easy to navigate software made programming simple, meaning it was possible to create the right menu combinations and offers for the business that was easy and intuitive for the staff to sell to customers. This same, easy to use ethos followed through to the PocketTouch handheld devices allowing the staff to provide the same excellent service at the table as they do at the bar.

The sales from both locations instantly appear in the cloud-based TouchOffice Web, allowing Gerry and Sue to see live sales from either Inn no matter where they are. The ability to drill down into the sales and find out exactly what has been sold by which staff means they can keep an eye on things simply and easily at all times.

The ICRTouch TouchPoint software also has the added benefit of integrating with the T Flex Coin Dispenser (supplied through Crane Payment Solutions www.CranePI.com), the only UK based EPoS system to do so. The system automatically calculates and dispenses the correct change based on the amount tendered, increasing service times, reduces shrinkage and cashier errors resulting in increased profits.
