Celebrating 25 years of TouchPoint

Today marks a very special day in the ICRTouch calendar, as we’re celebrating TouchPoint’s 25th birthday. The flagship product has come a long way since its initial release way back in 1999, making its mark in the hospitality and retail industries over the years and we’re extremely proud to see how far the solution has been developed.

The flagship ICRTouch product officially kickstarted the ICRTouch journey with its release at the end of the 90s. Over the course of the past quarter of a century, TouchPoint has grown exponentially due to its robust reliability and unrivalled flexibility, and is currently being used on over 180,000 terminals around the world.

The software has received thousands of updates over the years and there’s absolutely no chance of that stopping. In 2010 we introduced ETAL to TouchPoint, our very own scripting language, which allows our comprehensive Partner Network to fully customise the way that TouchPoint works, beyond the standard features that are provided, practically offering limitless functionality to meet the needs of any business.

TouchPoint represents the true heart of the ICRTouch ecosystem, having paved the way for us to develop many other successful ICRTouch products such as; PocketTouch, ByTable, TouchOffice Web, TouchTakeaway, TouchStock, SelfService and more.

“TouchPoint initially started as a small project to fill a gap in the market and meet the needs of some local businesses on the Isle of Wight. I never in a million years would’ve thought the solution would have such a prevalent impact on the EPoS industry and become such an integral part of UK hospitality.”

Colin Ringer, CEO

TouchPoint has always been considered a fundamental part of ICRTouch history, having created countless opportunities for company growth and development, and we’re excited to see how TouchPoint continues to shape the UK’s hospitality and retail scene.

Happy Birthday TouchPoint

Warm summer days are fast approaching, which can only mean one thing - venues all over the UK, particularly those with large outdoor areas will see a significant increase in footfall. You’re no doubt already thinking about ways of extracting as much revenue as possible from the seasonal period whilst keeping costs to a minimum, and upgrading your current EPoS set up is a great way to start.
