The customer – Mezzidakia

Mezzidakia is located on St Vincent Street, the ever growing central restaurant hub of Glasgow City Centre. The name “Mezzidakia” is inspired from the Turkish word “meze”, that historically found its way to Greece from Turkey many years ago. The flavours you will find on the menu are inspired from the dishes of Turkey, Morocco, Lebanon, Persia and Greece, taking you on a culinary journey through the Eastern Mediterranean.

The challenge

The owners of Mezzidakia understood the benefits that a handheld ordering system could bring, but have experienced problems with standard wifi connections in the past in one of their other restaurants. Wifi can be affected within establishments due to human interference, thick walls within the building and even odd shaped rooms can cause disruption to the connection. With this in mind, they insisted on a solution that did not use wifi. So after speaking to Hervé at Alliance Till Systems, they decided to go with his recommendation to implement a radio based solution equipped with PocketTouch software from ICRTouch.

The restaurant has 40 tables and can sit up to 120 people, so it was important to ensure customers had their orders on time and table service was impressive. PocketTouch does this by flowing the orders seamlessly straight from the table direct to the heart of the kitchen and bar, enabling a quicker table turnaround and efficient service to the customer.

Founded in 1888, South Shields Football Club (SSFC) is a professional club located in Tyne and Wear, currently competing in the National League North. The football stadium has a capacity to host 4,000 fans and offers a range of services, including hospitality boxes, bars, food kiosks and a merchandise store. Owned by The Conlon Group, the multi-storey venue employs around 60 staff and has a capacity to host over 150 customers. The renowned bar offers a range of activities for its customers including pool, darts, live sporting events and more.
