Hooked & Plucked quick service restaurant EPoS

Hooked and Plucked is a family restaurant business that goes back to 1983 as one of the first quality takeaways in Workington. Since then the quick-service restaurant has built a much-loved following in the local area with customers whose support they greatly appreciate.

Following their installation, we spoke to Jason Bailey from PanaEpos to find out about the setup at Hooked and Plucked.

Food that gets you hooked

“Hooked and Plucked brings an all-new quick-service style restaurant to Workington, with a focus on self-service. Originally, the owners of Hooked and Plucked came to us as a referral through Facebook. Having heard of our name through our recent installation of a kiosk in a fish & chip shop, they got our details and came to us for an EPoS solution.

The customer was looking for a quick, efficient and reliable ecosystem to be able to process their orders as quickly as possible. They process a very high volume of orders, selling at a huge pace with around 100 orders every hour. The restaurant was run from previous premises before but the owners decided to move to a bigger restaurant to keep up with the demand.

Focusing on the self-service concept we gave them the opportunity to trial the webshop ordering solution, TouchTakeaway, so they can get a taste of it and see how it works embedded into their website. We installed the ICRTouch suite of software, so the TouchTakeaway app talks with the TouchPoint till, which then talks with the kitchen video screen, kitchen printers and their CollectionPoint screens. The setup is managed by the cloud back office, TouchOffice Web. The operation of the technology is similar to that of McDonald’s.”

The result

The feedback from the site has been very positive, the staff are happy with processing transactions and the management are pleased with TouchOffice Web. The trial of TouchTakeaway went very well and they are going to be keeping the solution as their online ordering system.

The future plans for Hooked and Plucked are to get the kiosks online, this will further improve the customer ordering process at this great quick-service restaurant.
