The owners of Mezzidakia understood the benefits that a handheld ordering system could bring, but have experienced problems with standard wifi connections in the past in one of their other restaurants. Wifi can be affected within establishments due to human interference, thick walls within the building and even odd shaped rooms can cause disruption to the connection. With this in mind, they insisted on a solution that did not use wifi. So after speaking to Hervé at Alliance Till Systems, they decided to go with his recommendation to implement a radio based solution equipped with
PocketTouch software from ICRTouch.
The restaurant has 40 tables and can sit up to 120 people, so it was important to ensure customers had their orders on time and table service was impressive.
PocketTouch does this by flowing the orders seamlessly straight from the table direct to the heart of the kitchen and bar, enabling a quicker table turnaround and efficient service to the customer.
