To take part in this year’s games, each member of Team IOW must raise nearly £1,000 to cover their own costs, and with more than 100 athletes travelling, total expenses for the team are significant. ICRTouch’s donation will provide direct support to those most in need, who might otherwise struggle to afford the trip, ensuring that financial barriers do not stand in the way of their participation.
Colin Ringer, CEO of ICRTouch said: “We are incredibly proud to continue supporting Team IOW as they head to Orkney in July. Supporting charities and good causes within our community has always been a key part of the ICRTouch culture and we are delighted to help young athletes seize this opportunity. We wish them the very best for this year’s event.”
The International Island Games brings together athletes from islands across the world to compete in a wide range of sports. Team IOW will go head-to-head with fellow island nations in sports including football, athletics, cycling, golf, swimming and more.
Kevin Winchcombe, Chairman of Team IOW expressed his gratitude for the continued support: “ICRTouch’s generosity allows our young athletes to focus on their training and performance, rather than worrying about how they’ll cover the costs associated with competing. The additional support this year is making a real difference and we are thrilled to have them as a valued sponsor once again.”
The Isle of Wight community is encouraged to rally behind Team IOW as they prepare for the games. With the continued support of local businesses like ICRTouch, the team is set to make the Island proud in Orkney this summer.
