Isle of Wight Radio Managing Director Claire John shared: “Our headline sponsor, ICRTouch, has played a hugely important role in helping us celebrate the Island’s young people, and we’re incredibly grateful for their support.”
This year’s overall Child of Wight 2026 winner was Phoenix Haywood, for her determination and resilience in overcoming a rare medical issue to pursue dance, creative activities and raise money for charity. She has even ventured into entrepreneurship, launching her own vegan dog biscuit business Wight Wags Bakery.
ICRTouch CEO, Colin Ringer, attended the event and presented the overall Child of Wight 2026 Award. He shared:
“We’re very lucky – ICRTouch is a successful business, but we’re still very much an Island company. Our offices, our staff and everything we do begins here on the Isle of Wight. Supporting our local community is important to me and to the company as a whole, and the Child of Wight Awards is a particularly lovely way to do that.
It’s important to remember that the Island’s young people represent its future. It’s easy to think of children in terms of what they might one day become, but these awards are about recognising the remarkable people they are today.
Phoenix is a wonderful example of that, and it was a genuine privilege to present her with the overall Child of Wight Award.”
