Ability Dogs 4 Young People visit ICRTouch HQ

Our friends at Ability dogs 4 Young People (AD4YP) have recently visited us at the ICRTouch HQ.

It was a great opportunity for the wider ICRTouch team to meet all the kind volunteers in person and get to know more about the important work they carry out first hand  – and of course, meet ICRTouch’s sponsored ability dog, Colin

Colin began his training to become a fully trained ability dog around 6 months ago. He has already learnt and grown so much since the last time we saw him.

According to Catherine at AD4YP, Colin is an absolute social butterfly and he loves to make new friends – human and canine alike. He is gaining more and more confidence by the day, to explore on his free runs, enjoying long runs on the beach, in the forests or across fields.

Colin has also recently experienced every form of transport, including the ferry and he’s definitely getting more accustomed to public transport and confined spaces with temptations and distractions.

Catherine, volunteer & fundraiser at AD4YP has said:

“At every outing, Colin settles beautifully – whether it’s a busy café or a noisy event – showing just how far he’s come in his training. His calm, friendly nature and growing confidence are laying the perfect foundation for his future role.”

AD4YP plays a crucial role in enhancing the independence of young people with physical and mental disabilities including cerebral palsy, autism, diabetes and epilepsy, and we’re proud to be working this closely with such an important local charity.
