Star Pubs & Bars

ICRTouch Partner Microtill recently installed ICRTouch software into Star Pubs & Bars, the Pub Business of HEINEKEN UK. The chain uses TouchPoint EPoS software, TouchOffice Web back office and PocketTouch handheld order pads.

As we know, today’s EPOS systems are no longer just tills. Star Pubs & Bars recently negotiated a deal with Microtill for its licensees, and Dancer points to three major developments that are particularly beneficial for operators:

• Cloud-based infrastructure provides exceptional business reporting and analysis as well as live sales and stock information to licensees, even when they’re away from their pubs. It also enables any software updates to take place over the air without technician call-outs or system shutdowns.

• The integration of EPOS and card payment systems. This creates a seamless link between the EPOS system and card payment machines, and thereby reduces both lost revenue and customer service issues due to staff miskeying the bill and charging customers incorrectly. It also makes reconciling reports at the end of the day quicker and easier for licensees.

• The increasing sophistication of handheld remote ordering devices is particularly valuable for pubs with a big food trade, helping improve customer service and increase spend per head. The Microtill Pad, for example, can be pre-programmed with auto prompts for staff to ensure they ask and record all the relevant information on how guests want their food prepared (such as the bread type they’d like or how a steak should be cooked). It can also flag dishes containing allergens and remind staff to suggest add-on sales such as side dishes and coffees.

Modern technology helps provide operators with complete transparency across their business by turning all collated raw data into invaluable insight.
