ICRTouch works with local libraries to empower youth in tech education

In an effort to bolster educational resources and empower the young people of the Isle of Wight, we have recently been working on a collaborative initiative with our local authority’s Library Services team. Over the past few months, we’ve worked hand in hand to deliver a substantial influx of reading materials to libraries across the Island.

Libraries and Heritage Service Manager, Corina Westwood has thanked ICRTouch: “We are delighted with the new collection of books that ICRTouch has supported us to purchase. We hope that they will inspire people of all ages to visit the library and discover for themselves the wealth of services on offer. Joining your local library is free and membership provides access to a wide range of resources including use of computers and access to ebooks, newspapers and magazines.”

Our primary objective has been to broaden access for young individuals to a wealth of knowledge in fields such as computer science, information technology, coding, and software development. Through consultation with educational institutions, we curated a list of reading resources comprising of approximately 100 titles. These cater to learners of all ages, spanning from the tender age of 4 to university-level students.

CEO of ICRTouch, Colin Ringer says: Ensuring all young people on the Isle of Wight have access to these resources is part of our ongoing commitment to nurturing the next generation of tech-savvy individuals, showing them that there are fulfilling opportunities and careers close to home.

By providing them with an extensive array of educational materials, we aim to cultivate an environment where curiosity and innovation thrives, and by investing in the educational advancement of our youth, we hope to help lay the groundwork for a more technologically proficient community.
