ICRTouch help out the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary in their time of need

An animal charity on the Isle of Wight has been hit by a break in overnight.

The team at the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary arrived this morning (Tuesday) to find their bric-a-brac shop had been broken into and the till stolen.

It was found smashed open elsewhere on the site and, although it contained no cash, the charity has been left counting the cost of buying a replacement.

A charity box in the courtyard of the Wroxall-based charity was also smashed open.

Charity manager Derek Needham said it had been a disheartening discovery for those at the charity, but added: “The response from people has been fantastic. We have had lots of messages of support and offers of help.”

He thanked Island company ICRTouch for coming to their aid this morning, providing a replacement till at cost price, allowing them to re-open the bric-a-brac shop this afternoon.
